Steve Braun

Steve often teaches young players at our program sessions, using his expertise as a PGA member and his experience as a teaching professional.  He was  the Belvedere Head Professional for 14 years.  Steve gets the young players off on the right foot.  His knowledge is very valuable in working with new players and he was co-founder of the program.  He continues as the President of the  Board of Directors and adds polish to the entire program.  Steve is also a member of the State of Michigan PGA and served as its President in 2016.

Tom Rex

Maureen Whitehead

The knowledge of these two excellent players are very valuable in working with new players.  Both have Michigan Amateur Tournament experience and are very skilled at passing along their expertise.  They are the main reason for the success of our young golfers due to their dedication to our youth.

Mentors
The Program has adult mentors to help the director and teaching professionals to enhance the program effectiveness.  Many current mentors have been with the program for the entire life of the organization.  The mentors provide additional experience to create a leaning environment, passing on golf etiquette and values important to the game of golf.  The growth in participation has seen the number of mentors increase to over 20 participants recently, creating a safe teaching environment for the youth of Charlevoix.  The mentors efforts are are rewarded by golf passes at the Belvedere Golf Club.  If you are interested in mentoring, please contact Dean Davenport or Doug Drenth.
